Women’s high jump: Crockett wins; high schooler finishes second

Senior Lauren Crockett finished her regular-season event at Hayward Field on a high note, winning the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches Friday.

A member of the Pac-12 All-Academic team, the Utah native is currently leading the conference as the No. 1 ranked high jumper and is sixth nationally.

Britten Duerden, a senior in high school from Utah, finished second with a jump of 5-8. She’s still undecided on her where she will compete collegiately, Duerden won the 2015 Simplot Games with a personal best of 5-9.

Taking third was another Duck relishing her last regular-season competition as an Oregon athlete, Chancey Summers.

Summers, an All-American who finished second at the Pac-12 Championships last year, jumped 5-6.
